This Jackel is made of carved woodland and comes from the tomb of Tutankhamun. They were often seen in the deserts near villages and towns. They scavenged for whatever they could find from humans. They were also found in cemeteries. That's why they became associated with the dead, represented  by the God Anubis.

Jackals and Hounds is an Egyptian game that has spread from Egypt. It is the earliest known example of Snakes and Ladders. These types of games became the most popular games of chance. There is a team of five hounds and a team of five jackals. You try to get your pieces around the track.
